Lower back support for a herniated disk. I have 2 different types of compression braces. This one when I am doing work where I can't always not bend over too far or heavy work. (The second one is an another brand/type is for around the house.) Back to the Ossur, while I have no complaints about the support it provides the problem is that the small air release valve tends to brake off and the pump feature thus is useless. Thus the 4 stars.I order this brace because I was looking for something that would fit an obese person such as myself, that wouldn't roll on me, and that would hold my waist in instead of giving me a pinched looked - I am a fat person, I know, and a little narrow brace around my waist feels and looks horrible!. The largest brace I could find in the local stores was still too small, and the band was narrow and would constantly roll up on me, making it completely uncomfortable as it dug into my waist.This brace is very wide which definitely helps prevent some rolling, though I found that if I tried to wear it while sitting, it still tried to roll on me--but it was much better than the store brace I had! Plus it is wide enough that it holds my waist in - I don't have fat rolls hanging over the top (sorry for the disgusting image that might conjure, but it's a fact of life I deal with and wanted to prevent!)The problem I've been encountering is very bad back pain and stiffness whenever I must stand for periods of time for my job, and this brace definitely relieved that pain, and it isn't too uncomfortable.Pros:* wide length - stays around my waist, holds in my waist, and resists rolling better than narrower braces found in stores* good sizing - this brace will definitely fit according to the sizing it says it will - in fact, my is almost too large! If I manage to succeed in my diet and loose some weight, I'm going to have to go back and order the next size down!* good support - when I wear the brace, it does its job and relieves the strain on my back so that I can stand and work for hours without being in extreme pain or becoming stiff.*decently comfortable - it can take a bit to get it adjusted just right, and it does sometimes tend to slip on me, but over all, it's not uncomfortable to wear, even for extended periods during the course of a work day.Cons:* instructions on how to wear it are horrible - the pictures are tiny and in black and white and are very hard to see; the written instructions are poor at best. I had to really study the brace itself to finally figure out which way was up!Quality. Good support. Lumbar air bladder works great.I've had one just liked this until a few months ago when it stopped keeping the Air in. I found this one online and it's just like the one I was using for 10 years or longer and this one comes with a Ice Bag to use with this also and I love it. Having the Air Inflatable on this it helps when I was having to Drive 2 hours to one of my Eye Doctor and sitting all that long wasn't that bad at all as long as I had that Brace on and had the Air Pumped Up. It's the one out the other different 5 Back Braces that I have and I use This One Much Much More because it's been very very good for my Back and Helps Out at the YMCA Workout's for Me!The Compression Lumbar support works well with me. I gave it a 4 rather than a 5 because I think it should bea tad widr. I recommend it to anyone who has achy back specially if due to muscle spasm. If the pain is radiating to the thigh , I will recommend seeing an MD, it maybe due to nerve compression. Core exercise and strengthening the abds is also helpful..THIS WELL CONSTRUCTED, FIRM, LIGHTWEIGHT, ADJUSTABLE BACK SUPPORT OFFERS GREAT LOWER BACK SUPPORT WHICH HELPS ALLEVIATE MY PINCHED NERVE PAIN. THE BELT DOES CAUSE A BIT OF MOISTURE IF THE DAY IS HOT AND WORN CONSTANTLY FOR LONG PERIODS, BUT IS EASILY CORRECTED BY REMOVING PERIODICALLY FOR A FEW MINUTES AT A TIME. TAPERED TO FIT THE BODY, NO PINCHING OR DIGGING INTO ABDOMEN. STIFF CONSTRUCTION DOES NOT ROLL UP AT TOP AND BOTTOM. REALLY A PERFECT, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PRODUCT.
